At the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to:
- Identify and explain the three parts of the ear: inner ear, middle ear, and outer ear.
- List at least three safe materials for cleaning the ears and nose.
- Demonstrate the proper way to clean their ears and nose using the specified materials.
Entry Behaviour
Pupils should already know that the ear and nose are parts of the body that need care. They may have some basic understanding of how to keep these areas clean.

Care of the Ear and Nose
Materials for Cleaning the Ears and Nose:
- Cotton Swabs: Used for gently cleaning the outer ear.
- Tissues: Useful for cleaning the nose and removing mucus.
- Soft Cloth: Can be used to wipe the area around the ears and nose.
Three Parts of the Ear:
- Outer Ear: The visible part that collects sound waves.
- Middle Ear: Contains tiny bones that help transmit sound.
- Inner Ear: Responsible for hearing and balance, containing the cochlea and other structures.
