Contact and Non-Contact Sports
Contact sports are sports where players physically interact with each other as part of the game. These interactions may involve tackles, blocking, or other forms of physical contact, and the rules of the game allow or require this contact for proper play. In contact sports, players often wear protective gear to avoid injuries.
Examples of Contact Sports:
- Football (Soccer): In football, players can physically block or tackle opponents to gain control of the ball.
- Rugby: Rugby involves heavy physical contact, where players tackle each other to stop opponents from advancing.
- Basketball: Although basketball is a less physical game than rugby or football, players still make physical contact when defending, such as blocking or screening.
- Boxing: A sport where two opponents physically strike each other with punches while wearing protective gloves.
- Wrestling: A combat sport where two athletes grapple and try to pin or throw their opponent.
