Previous Knowledge
Pupils have learned to identify and count numbers 1-12. They are familiar with basic counting, number identification, and writing simple numbers.
Lesson Procedure
Step 1: Introduction
- Objective: Introduce the number 13.
- Method:
- Begin by reviewing numbers 1-12 using flashcards and counting objects.
- Sing a number song that includes numbers 1 to 13, such as: “1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13!”
- Tell the class: “Today, we are going to learn a new number – number 13!”

Step 2: Teaching Number
- Objective: Pupils will recognize and identify the number 13.
- Method:
- Show the flashcard with the number 13 and say it aloud.
- Ask the pupils to repeat after you several times.
- Display the number poster (1-13) and point out the number 13. Ask pupils to identify it on the poster.
- Call individual pupils forward to identify number 13 on the board or flashcards.
