Leadership Functions
What is Leadership? Leadership means guiding and helping people to achieve a common goal. Leaders can be found in many places, from your classroom to your community, and they play different roles depending on where they are.
Functions of a Leader
- Guidance: Leaders provide direction and advice to help people understand what needs to be done and how to do it. For example, a teacher guides students on how to complete their assignments, while a coach helps players learn and improve their skills.
- Decision-Making: Leaders make important decisions that affect their group. For instance, a class president might decide what activity to plan for a school event, while a community leader might choose where to build a new playground.
- Motivation: Leaders inspire and encourage people to work hard and do their best. A good leader cheers on their team and helps them stay focused on their goals, like a captain who motivates their team to win a game.
- Problem-Solving: Leaders help solve problems that come up in their group. If there is a disagreement between friends, a leader might help find a fair solution so everyone is happy.
