The Instruction Given to Moses by God
God instructed Moses to
- Make a Bronze Serpent: God told Moses to create a bronze serpent (a snake made of bronze) and put it on a tall pole. The serpent represented the problem—the snakes that were causing harm.
- Lift the Pole High: Moses was to raise the pole high so that everyone in the camp could see the bronze serpent from a distance.
- Look at the Serpent: God instructed that anyone who had been bitten by a snake should look at the bronze serpent on the pole. By doing this, they would be healed and would not die.
