What is Reporting Suspicious Movements?
Reporting suspicious movements means telling a trusted adult or the authorities when you see someone acting in a strange or unusual way that might mean they are up to no good. By reporting, you help keep your neighborhood safe.
Steps to Report Suspicious Movements
- Stay Calm and Observant: If you see someone doing something that doesn’t seem right, like peeping into windows or lurking in dark areas, don’t panic. Stay calm and pay attention to what the person is doing.
- Take Note of Important Details: Try to remember important details about the person and what they are doing. For example:
- What are they wearing?
- What do they look like?
- Where did you see them?
- What exactly were they doing that seemed suspicious?
- Tell a Trusted Adult: Find a trusted adult, like your parent, teacher, or a neighbor you trust, and tell them what you saw. Give them the details you noticed. They will know what to do next.
- Call the Authorities if Needed: If you are with an adult, and they think the situation is serious, they might call the police to report the suspicious movement. The police will ask for the details you provided so they can investigate and keep your neighborhood safe.
Why is Reporting Important?
Reporting suspicious movements helps to prevent crime and keeps everyone in your neighborhood safe. Even if it turns out to be nothing serious, it’s better to be safe than sorry. Your actions could protect your community.
