Instructional Objectives
At the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to:
- Identify the main parts of the male reproductive system.
- Describe the functions of each part of the male reproductive system.
- Explain the role of the male reproductive system in reproduction.
Entry Behaviour
Pupils should have prior knowledge of the basics of reproduction and an understanding of human anatomy, particularly from previous lessons on female reproductive organs.

Parts of the Male Reproductive System:
- Testes: Two oval-shaped organs that produce sperm and hormones (mainly testosterone).
- Epididymis: A coiled tube where sperm mature and are stored.
- Vas deferens: The duct that transports sperm from the epididymis to the ejaculatory duct.
- Seminal vesicles: Glands that produce a fluid that nourishes sperm and forms a part of semen.
- Prostate gland: Produces a fluid that helps to protect and transport sperm.
- Penis: The organ through which sperm is delivered; it also serves as the conduit for urine.
Functions of the Male Reproductive Organs:
- Testes: Produce sperm and hormones that regulate male characteristics.
- Epididymis: Stores and matures sperm until ejaculation.
- Vas deferens: Transports sperm during ejaculation.
- Seminal vesicles: Provide nutrients to sperm and contribute to semen volume.
- Prostate gland: Produces fluids that enhance sperm motility and viability.
- Penis: Delivers sperm to the female reproductive system during sexual intercourse.
